BLACK as in TOTAL BLACK ?
I view BLACK not as something evil, dark, sorrowful or negative (as so many - first of all, the Catholic Church - see it that way).
To me, BLACK is chic, mystery, whispers, hints of sensuality, imagination and the unknown to be discovered.
Chic: la petite robe noire! Who better than Audrey could feature this essential must in any wardrobe ?
...or the dramatic gown. Oh...that was too easy. A Diorissimo !
Mystery: As in black lace (No arsenic, please !)
Or the discovery of unknown depths of pleasure
Hints of sensuality: the absence of light unchains so often a turmoil of senses
Imagination: don't you shut your eyes when you try imagining something ?
And the unknown: I don't need to give an example of that, do I ?
Antithesis of WHITE (and that's also another story which we shall tell), BLACK is usually associated with guilt, darkness, nightprowlers and so on.
To me, BLACK is not nightprowlers but nightdreamers.
not darkness but a different quality of illumination; not guilt but the enjoyment of a deep fulfilment of senses. In BLACK I see the seekers of secrets, lovely bodies finally at rest in the aftermath of love.

Liberated from all church- or society-built hypocritical restrictions...
BLACK is the colour of the ultimate freedom.
