PURPLE: AN INTRIGUING AND FASCINATING COLOUR

I never understood why, for Catholics, it's meant as a symbol of penitence, remorse, sadness and mourning.
True, in that religion, it's also the colour worn by bishops and that of the gem set in their pastoral ring and as such, a symbol of power, although they say it's a symbol of obedience. But in that case, should their flock kiss it ?
As far as I'm concerned, I find purple to be a very pure

 soothing and relaxing color.

Mysterious and romantic.

Much in favour for epic and fantasy backgrounds

It's one of the dominant colours of the so-called gothic world.
Their gowns have highly dramatic architectures
And, since a few years, it has reached a status of high, sophisticated elegance, in fashion, despite some persisting superstitions according to which it's ill-fated

Recently adopted among the colours for bridal gowns !

Interesting in accessories, if suitably matched
Seductive in makeup
Intriguing and definitely "fatal" in lingerie
Sexy in swimwear and kind to pale as well as to tanned skins
Not for everyone, though ! Small persons should preferably avoid it, (in my opinion )which makes it a perfect colour for me !!!
Blue and purple fruit and vegetables are said to aid in the anti-ageing process, memory function as they contain anti-oxydants that are thought to prevent some diseases.
Purple food can help in preventing breakdown of collagen and wasting of muscles.
As an addition to home decoration, it's supremely elegant if used with restraint. I would (personally) avoid it for bedlinen, unless in a very pale lavender shade.
But I like it in my bathroom
In the kingdom of gems, amethyst rules supreme.
Although I'm not very fond of jewels, I must admit I have a complete parure with amethysts (set in white gold).
But there are so many other gems and stones in the purple range
Uncommon in the animal world
But nature makes up for it with an over-abundance of flowers
Much in favour in Burlesque where it reigns sovereign with green and red
amid veils, embroideries and boas
oops...what's that thing lost in the feathers ?
I think it's time, with my little friend to say:

maybe, even, a little too much ? Well, tomorrow is another day
