LE ROUGE ET LE NOIR .... (1)
....et un peu de blanc.
I'm sure Stendhal would have nothing against my post. His love for beauty - be it in art, music, etc - would certainly have made him appreciate photography if it had existed in his time.
It's not by chance that an overdose of beauty (be it in paintings, architecture, sculpture, landscaping, etc) is defined as Stendhal's syndrome. It's true that sometimes, when you look at something awesomely perfect, you feel dizzy, overcome, unable to absorb so much perfection.
I'm sure, therefore, that Stendhal would not object to being quoted and referred to in this post.
