BLUE, BLEU, BLU, BLUES ETC...
There's such a blue sky today in this little corner of Italy that I absolutely feel compelled to talk about this color.
Nooooo...I'm not going to choose Blue Moon (although it may seem an obvious choice). Rhapsody in Blue is what I have in mind as a soundtrack for this post. I know the video is a little irreverent but I'm sure Gershwin would have enjoyed it.
Blue seems such a cold color (and it is indeed classified as such). It's not easy to wear, fashion-wise, and it requires poise. Strongly discouraged for small persons !
It also recalls echos...
of far-away, misted horizons
of far-away, misted horizons
of mystery
...endless depths...
...romance...
and peace.
Uniqueness
sometimes disquieting, in its innocence
or in its deadly natural beauty
Seen as the antithesis of passion, and yet...
...used by Matisse for his wonderful nudes
...and often, mistakenly, published as an illustration for coldness or frigidity
...but it's probably only the call for solitude
..or for the unknown
Image of fidelity and quiet contentment
and of nights, spent in listening to music and reading or watching vintage movies
LA COULEUR DU BLEU
Quand le matin s’ouvre et m’inonde
Un merle parle pour du vent;
Tressé de crins, le soleil gronde:
Folle la terre aux reins ardents.
La nuit, je perds les mots qui domptent
Le thym, les fontaines de Mai;
J’attends sur ma langue éveillée
Les cris qui nommeront le monde.
J’attends mes racines profondes
La belle haleine pour le feu
Et que, dans le carré du jeu
Tu dises la couleur du bleu.

Well...blue doesn't make me feel blue
