WHITE SHIRTS...SO VIRGINAL (OR ...?)
I can't hide it. I already hinted at it in my post about jeans. I love white shirts. Be they plain, preferably with an upturned collar or adorned with ruches, jabots, lace etc - girls know what I'm talking about, I'm sure - I like shirts to be long-sleeved although possibly rolled up.
Romantic or
Strict and almost "built" (Ferrè was actually an architect before turning into a designer)
Cotton, silk, percalle, organza and especially linen are what makes of a shirt something special.
Buttoned up to one's neck
Or generously open as in this photo by Nacivet
Worn with casual slacks, elegant skirts or black velvet tights, they are perfect for any event. Adorned with a thread of pearls, a scarf or just unbuttoned on a beautiful cleavage, white shirts are irresistible.
And the shiver a woman feels when she wears her lover's shirt ?
So many styles: city-chic, with a kimono twist by Yves St. Laurent
Country look
A la garçonne
Delightfully naughty
Teasing
Relaxed, almost innocent
Commanding
Calling for exploration
So unattainable that...it might be ripped off
Ethereal
...and, of course, it can be so enticing on a man too
...in more than a situation, giving orders
or receiving them
Well, after these morning reflections, I'll drop the white shirt I'm wearing now and shall enjoy a long, tonifying shower !
A lovely week-end !
