YIN-YANG

Yesterday evening as I was eating an avocado, I just realized how the two halves on the dish formed a yin-yang combination

Historical and cultural-philosophical references to Yin-Yang can be found

HERE.

So, it all started with my dinner and I thought it would be funny to make a post with a selection of the amazing variety of representations inspired by the original

symbol, from the classical black and white

to an amazing series of versions

Traditional is the theme of the Dragon and the Tiger

By extension, a number of representations have been developed with the constant idea of "complementarity". In the animal world

Nature  and elements

The above composition by Jim Thompson summarizes beautifully the complexity of our world

Abstracts have their own special, quiet appeal, from the Chinese Yin Yang Lotus

to simple but no less mesmerizing combinations of colours and materials

The basic idea of Yin Yang has also prompted designers for home decoration

(Bookcase by Eric Guiomar)

Adornments are no exception

(Watch by Yanko Designs)

As well as food and drinks

(Pralines from Neuhaus)

and other objects as in this "Fender Vs. Gibson"

and this well-known photo of the VW cars

And how could it not inspire artists ?

Be they photographers of real-life shots
