VENEZIA OGGI
...or Venice Today.
It's not so much about masks and costumes (although they never cease to surprise me with their creativity).
But Carnival in Venice, even without masks, is a wonderful time.
Especially for people (ehm...ehm...) who have a sweet tooth.
Especially for people (ehm...ehm...) who have a sweet tooth.
More than masks and costumes, it's worth visiting for the astonishing variety of pastries:
Frittelle, with an apple core or not
Galani with chocolate
or...plain (the ones I like better) so thin...so light...
But we also have Giuseppine
not to speak of castagnole (because of their shape similar to chestnuts)
Cafés and bakeries overflow with an incredible range of cakes and sweets of all kinds.
These are not shops.
They are works of art...and of choice.
