THOSE IRRESISTIBLE LITTLE....

...bows that come in so many fashions, colors, fabrics, ways and  that are - sometimes - just there, asking to be undone

You can find them as innocent hair ornaments

enhancing the line and design of a hat

underlining the simplicity of  fashion designs or the season's leitmotif, as in these by Valentino

or, as in Chanel's collections, identifying a unique style and tradition

Elegant and slightly mysterious "jewels" like this velvet and lace choker

Ties and ribbons on white shirts are simply perfect (on condition that they are not of the "prefab" kind: those would kill the subtle pleasure to untie them)

They can be worn on bare skin with a suit or a gown but, mind you, your décolleté must be perfect since all people's attention will be drawn by that satin or velvet ornament

They can soften the "mises" of some stern ladies

Bows are a must on the most proper and even austere aprons

But also on less austere and (for some people) definitely arousing ones

By the way, did you know that even Barbie has a naughty little French Maid outfit ? I just discovered it

Aprons can even  be erotic with humour. Mmmmhh...hallo my Toy ! That bow is not really a chef d'oeuvre but we know why it's there, don't we ?

But it's especially in lingerie that they reach the peak of their naughtiness despite their naive appearance

A must in past centuries when there were no zips

even for today's corsets, they are often there, tantalizing

sometimes with matching satin chokers and ribbons

and they also adorn night-time lingerie as in négligés (and by the way, I wish that people stopped writing négligées, since it's masculine in French)

and rear

They can adorn bras and matching briefs ton sur ton

or in contrasting colours

made of simple ribbons

or elaborated with lace

tiny, almost shy

or bold and daring

discreet

or "shouting" as in burlesque outfits

worn with great abundance by the "Gothic Lolitas"

or more sparingly in long, refined nightgowns

Yes, indeed, the variety and applications are endless but this is the moment to say goodbye
