I think not.
I think dark powers (fanaticisms and religions) have taken new energy from masses
 of people who are kept ignorant on purpose.
Power has no race and no religion.
Power is all about owning as much as you can grab.
Be it by persuasion (media and religions/sects)
Be it by strength (business)
Be it by weapons (gangs or warlords)
Be it by any other means...
Dark ages are not yet over.
Will out children see a new dawn ?

I can't avoid thinking that if all able men who so 'valiantly' try to reach our shores, were instead using that same energy to overthrow their national warlords, they'd probably win. But then, the winner would become the next warlord, wouldn't he? That's what happened ever since African Nations 'won' their freedom.
