MOOD: FLUID...
"Whatever the reason, I’ve found solace in living by water. Solace and a sense of humor restored. … Water, contrary to even our West’s labyrinthian water laws, cannot be truly claimed. It’s too malleable. Water may reflect us, mirror our deepest selves, but it won’t bear our imprint, our scars. We can in a sense wound it through pollution and our contempt, but more often than not it will wash away those wounds over time. Water leaves no trace of us, though over eons it has left its own mark in the whorls of canyon stone, wide-wandering tributaries, glacial melt. More than volcanic fire and wind, earth is sculpted by water. Perhaps, then, it is from water we can at last learn how to shape ourselves in its image."

LE VOYAGE
Toujours
Je veux recommencer
Cet infini voyage,
Retrouver tous les gués
De mon pélerinage,
De ta bouche à tes pieds
En un poignant adage….
Passionément mêlér
La douceur et la rage !
Goûter et puis tracer
Au fond de ton ombrage
(dessus, dessous, partout,
je refuse d’être sage)
De ma langue et des doigts
Mon souverain hommage,
A ta mâle beauté.

PEARLS
Pearls are considered as the birthstone for the Sun Signs of Gemini and Cancer (this latter being mine).
*
Facts, myths & folklore
An organic gem, pearls are formed inside mollusks such as oysters and mussels. They are formed when an irritant such as a tiny stone or bit of sand gets inside the mollusk's shell. A lustrous substance, called nacre, is secreted around the object to protect the soft internal surface of the mollusk. As layer upon layer of nacre coats the irritant, a pearl is formed. Light that is reflected from these overlapping layers produces a characteristic iridescent luster. This process of building a solid pearl can take up to seven or eight years.
*
The most valuable pearls are perfectly symmetrical, relatively large and naturally produced. They have a shimmering iridescence which is called orient luster. The principal oyster beds lay in the Persian Gulf, along the coasts of India and Sri Lanka, and in the Red Sea. Chinese pearls come mainly from freshwater rivers and ponds, whereas Japanese pearls are found near the coast in salt water.
Cultured or freshwater pearls are considered to offer the power of love, money, protection, and luck. Pearls are thought to give wisdom through experience, to quicken the laws of karma and to cement engagements and love relationships. They are thought to keep children safe.
*
Early Chinese myths told of pearls falling from the sky when dragons fought. Ancient legend says that pearls were thought to be the tears of the gods and the Greeks believed that wearing pearls would promote marital bliss and prevent newlywed women from crying.

ART FROM FAR, FAR EAST ... HA HUYNH MY (VIETNAM)
A friend of mine, who recently came back from Vietnam, sent me these pictures I find delightful, delicate and utterly harmonious in their apparent simplicity. More information can be found at the following link or googling her name:
I'd like to share this brief preview with those of my readers who love art
I don't know if a thing of beauty is a joy for ever, but a joy it certainly is.

EROTIC...OR RIDICULE ?
At times, I happen to come into photographs that are supposed to be erotic but...I can't help finding them HI-LA-RIOUS.
An example ? Well..see this picture for instance
Not only doesn't it stir any kind of erotic feeling in me,
but it prompts a few legends for this situation.
I've written some of them as they came to my mind.

If you find it funny, you can continue with your own...
A lovely day !

ORANGE, ORANGE & ORANGE...
Three things come to my mind when I think "orange".
The first is so obvious
The second maybe a little less so
The third is obvious to Dutch people and since I have good friends among them, it is so for me too.
By the way, hi MJ !

By the way, hi MJ !
This flag is one of the oldest flags in constant use and originated with Prince William the First, the Prince of Orange, in the latter half of the sixteenth century. It derives from the flag of the Prince of Orange which was orange, white and blue.
Orange is the glorious colour of the Dutch national football team (one of the best in the world and certainly one with a high level of fair-play - says my brother)
Their fans are probably among the most high-spirited and funny supporters
Aren't they funny ? Their joy is really contagious. They dare even more, in the same playful spirit !
Talking about The Netherlands, how could I not think of their flowers ? First among all: tulips.
Nature has been generous with this colour
Beware ! Some of these mushrooms can be as deadly as they are beautiful !
Better to be on the safe side and have traditional food if there's the least doubt
Of course, how could I not think of Canard à l'Orange ? But as I'm a vegetarian, I have my own special recipe (and photograph)
Marmalade (preferably bitter) is my absolute favourite
and I love thirst-quenching icy orange drinks in the Summer
...but orange is also the basic ingredient for many a cocktail and long drink, not to speak about the all-time famous Cointreau !
The colour orange is said to bring optimism. It certainly brightens the first dark and colder days of Autumn and makes of them - sometimes - a lovely season.
Oh..look..a maple leaf ! *waves hallo at Canadian readers, one especially*
*
Orange enlivens the gloomiest of all months with Halloween celebrations and symbols, starting with pumpkins
for the joy of children
...and not only the children
It radiates warmth
Didn't this ginger kitten find just the right spot ? Wouldn't you like to be in his place ?
Nature has been prodigal also in the domain of animals: on ground
In the sky
In seas and oceans
...and in some unexpected other places
...but less generous with the human species. It's been said gingerheads (also known as redheads) will become
genetically extinct in 500 years *sigh*. Better to have fun till it lasts!
Orange generates joy, energy, good humour and positive thoughts.
A touch here and there and a room is totally different
Even a strict-looking office can be brightened with some orange accessories and supplies
It's, with yellow, the colour of summerwear and beachwear par excellence
but not so much so in underwear
outfits and accessories

However, I prefer - once again - just a touch or an accessory rather than a complete outfit.

Ravishing and rich in some traditional dresses
whereas it's the colour of some monks (the fabric of their tunics was coloured with saffron as it was the cheapest of dip-colouring). It has since, by analogy, become one of the colours that recall meditation.
With some measure, it can be worn by men
Gems really look like small fires
In sportscars etc it looks quite aggressive
(except in the case of Judo where orange marks the third step, after white and yellow)
It's the colour of dreamlike countries
of wide and wild horizons
of endless landscapes at the end of the day
of unfathomable beauties sculpted by elements of nature
of voyages into the unknown
Au revoir...till the next journey into colours
